Blog Writer, by Marz Agency LLC.

Email hovsep@marzagency.com and you will hear back within one business day. Include your .myshopify.com store address and, if something went wrong, what you saw on screen. That is usually enough to sort it in one reply.

Getting started

  1. Install Blog Writer, then open it from your Shopify admin under Apps.
  2. Type one sentence about what the post should cover, and press Write it.
  3. Read the draft. Edit the title, the meta description or the article itself.
  4. Press Publish to put it on your blog, or Save as draft to come back to it.

Questions that come up

The app says my store has no blog

Shopify keeps articles inside a blog, and a store can have none. Create one in Shopify under Content, then Blog posts, then Manage blogs. Reopen Blog Writer and it will appear. If you have several blogs, a menu appears so you can choose which one a post goes to.

How long are the articles?

Up to 600 words, and often less. That is a deliberate ceiling rather than a limitation to work around: a tight 350-word post that someone reads to the end is worth more than a padded one they abandon.

Can I change a post after it is published?

Yes. Open Your posts, pick one, and edit the title, meta description or body. Saving updates the live article. You can also ask for a rewrite: the suggestion is shown next to what is currently live, and nothing changes on your store unless you keep it.

Will it publish anything on its own?

No. Every draft waits for you to press Publish or Save as draft. There is no scheduling and no automatic posting, by design.

Can it write several posts at once?

No. One post per run, on purpose. If you need volume, connect a tool that can drive it, as below.

Does it add images?

It does not generate images. A connected tool can attach one you already have: by URL with no extra permission, or as an uploaded file after you press Allow image uploads on the Connect page, where Shopify asks you to approve file access. Nothing image-related is asked for at install.

What does it do about SEO?

Every draft comes with a title, a URL handle, a meta description and a few tags, and the meta title and description are written to Shopify’s own SEO fields on the article. All of it is editable before you publish.

Can I use it in another language?

The app’s own screens are in English. If you describe the topic in another language, the article generally comes back in that language.

What permissions does it ask for, and why?

One: permission to read and write blog content. That is what publishing an article requires. It cannot see your orders, your customers or your products. Permission to upload files is separate and optional, and only ever asked for if you press Allow image uploads on the Connect page.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no paid tier, no trial that ends, no card, and nothing to cancel. Uninstall it whenever you like and your posts stay exactly where they are.

Connecting another app or AI agent

Open Connect an app and create an API key. Any app or AI assistant that holds it can publish to your blog without ever seeing your Shopify login. Keys are named so you can tell them apart, shown once, and revocable at any time; revoking one stops that tool immediately and leaves the others working.

The same page has a SKILL.md file you can hand to an AI coding assistant, and a list of where each tool looks for it.

My key stopped working

Three things end a key: revoking it, uninstalling the app, and reinstalling after an uninstall. Reinstalling deliberately invalidates every key issued before it, so a key left with someone who no longer runs the store cannot be used against it. Create a fresh key after any reinstall.

Uninstalling

Remove it from Shopify under Apps. Articles already on your blog stay published and unchanged. The access token is deleted and every API key is revoked straight away, and Shopify asks the app to erase the rest 48 hours later. See the privacy policy for exactly what that covers.

Reporting a security issue

Email hovsep@marzagency.com with “security” in the subject line and it will be looked at the same day. Please do not include a live API key in the message; the last four characters are enough to identify one.
